How to Make BitTorrent Faster and Speedup Downloads
This is primarily for Linksys routers, but it may work for many others. I can confirm this works like a charm, my average download speeds are up 10X since I tried these settings.
1) Go to 192.168.1.1 in your browser.
2) Use admin for your password to login.
3) Go to Port Range Forwarding section.
4) Put in the port range 6881-6889 for Torrent files
5) Check both protocol boxes TCP and UDP and then the Enable setting.
6) Put the forward address as your internal IP address (Start -> Run and type in ipconfig to find yours)
7) Enter all your changes and you are good to go.
