AOL Free Web Email Coming Soon

AOL is beta-testing a free web-based email service with its members. The company plans on offering the Yahoo Mail and Gmail competitor to the general public sometime in 2005. All the basic features are included like address book, contacts, and decent storage space of 100 megabytes. AOL is trying to develop new revenue opportunities by copying MSN and Yahoo portal business models. The company lost 4 million subscribers to their ISP service in the past 2 years. Currently they have 22.4 million members.
