Sony Ericsson S710a Approved by FCC for Cingular


The Sony Ericsson S710a was approved by the FCC. This phone is another Cingular exclusive as the carrier flexes its market power with the cellphone suppliers after the acquisition of AT&T Wireless. The phone should be available very soon for $399. As an update to the S700, the S710a features:

-1.3 megapixel digital camera with 8X digital zoom
-2.3 inch 240x320 pixel 262k TFT color screen
-EDGE 3G acces for downloading speeds up to 240kps
-Tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE network compatibility
-Bluetooth and Memory Stick Duo slot
-up to 7 hours of talk-time and 300 hours of standby [Via MobileTracker]
