Dell Launches New 20" LCD Monitor - UltraSharp 2005FPW

UPDATE: Dell has contacted FirstAdopter.com and said 2001FP is NOT being replaced. Dell sees the 2005FPW as a new addition to their product line as their "wide-screen" LCD monitor. The email is as follows -

The 2005FPW does NOT replace the 2001FP. It is a new addition to our product line. It is Dell’s first widescreen, but we do feel customers will still want a 20” standard 4:3 aspect-ratio monitor, so we are not discontinuing the 2001FP, nor will there be a “firesale.”

Dell released a new 20" LCD monitor which replaces the 2001FP. Improvements include a 16:10 aspect ratio, a lower response time (12ms vs 16ms) and a initial price of $799. It looks like the 2001FP is going on firesale to get rid of inventory.

Technical specifications of the Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW include:
Native Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60Hz
Response Time (typical): 12ms grey-to-grey, 16ms black-to-white Contrast Ratio: 600:1
Brightness (typical): 300cd/m2
Number of Colors: 16.7 million
Horizontal/Vertical Viewing Angle (typical): +/-90°
Inputs: Analog/Digital/S-Video/Composite
Dimensions (HxWxD): 15.3" x 18.6" x 9"
Weight: 17.64 lb.

One bad thing about the 2005FPW is that I don't think a lot of games support the native 1680X1050 resolution, so it will probably have to run and scale a lower resolution. Most games do support the 1600x1200 of 2001FP however.
