Just listened to ep #14. Good job. So do you plan to move your ps3 back and forth between the lcd and the plasma depending if you are playing games or watching blu-ray?

I haven't decided yet. I had it on my living room plasma to watch a few blu-rays and now I just moved it to my bedroom LCD to play games.

Don't know where the permanent home is going to be. At this point, I'm leaning toward the LCD as the Blu-ray movies look fine on it too. Since I sit only 3-4 feet away vs. 8-10 feet on the plasma, it's a similar experience watching DVDs 32" vs. 42" screen.

SDTV TV shows and regular DVDs I'll watch on the plasma as it looks better. SD on the LCD is "blah".

I've found a cracking deal on a 42" LG plasma. Nothing special, but it's a bargain. I'm seriously considering it, but I suspect that 42" may be too big for my living room!

I have a pretty small living room and the 42" panny looks fine in it.

Just listened to #15. I like how you are still very objective even though you now own a ps3 :-)

Anyways, see if the Vizio has a VGA port. I know it's kind of weird but like my samsung lcd basically says the hdmi port isn't designed for PC use. DVI and HDMI < v1.3 video portion are suppose to be identical but from reading avsforum some hdmi ports on hdtv's just don't play well with pc's.

Also, as a last resort you might give powerstrip a try:

I just tried my mac mini through VGA. 1024x768 looked ok, I tried the 1378x768? and it looked ok, but there were blurry areas. I kind of looks 90%ish as good as when I run VGA on my 2001FP at 1600x1200.

It's much better than DVI-HDMI, but still not good enough for regular PC usage. I'll stick to video and gaming on the Vizio.
