Dell 2005FPW and Fonts
The monitor has zero dead pixels and back lighting is not a problem. This is to replace a 19" Hitachi CRT that I run at 1024x768. My eyes can't stand the strain at higher resolutions. My problem with the 2005FPW is fonts. Most of what I do is web browsing and text based work. Not much gaming and then very little that is 3d stuff. I am wanting to run the 2005FPW at it's native resolution, but I'm having problems reading the fonts (especially in internet explorer). I have played with the settings I am familiar with. I've tried display settings for screen resolution I scaled back to 1280x800 (it's 16x10 aspect), but things get blurry/shadowed looking. I've tried changing the display DPI settings from 96 to 120 and others, but that doesn't affect the font size in Internet Explorer document's. I've changed the text size in Internet Explorer by clicking at the top of an Internet Explorer window on "View" and then "Text Size". This will change the text size in some Internet Explorer windows but this option doesn't change all text. I believe it depends on the way the web page was coded. Help is needed. Is there a way to fix this or am I going to have to send it back to Dell? I got a great deal on this system and don't want to send it back if there is a work around, but my eyes can't handle it.
