How does it compare to COH or other online RPGs?

the only other mmorpg i've really spent any time playing is CoH. And so we'll have to see if WoW gets boring like CoH did. I think i'm going to give up on CoH until the City of Villians expansion comes out, then make me a nasty villian! So far WoW is a lot of fun. Enemies are fairly easy to beat if they are same level or one higher. I've beaten a few that were 2 levels higher than me, and it's a bit of a fight. I plan on playing as much as i can until the 9th when the beta test is over, and by then i should have a good idea on whether or not i'll actually pay for the game when it is released.

booo, the stress test beta is now officially over. Man, what a great couple of weeks though! I had a LOT of fun playing this game for the short time that Blizzard was good enough to let us try it. I will definitely be picking this one up when it officially is released, which i've been hearing is tentatively novemberish. I think i'll have to go back and actually play Warcraft II and III so I can be more familiar with the warcraft worlds. For it still being a beta, i had only a few crashes, and I personally encountered no bugs in the game. All missions i tried worked fine. If any of you guys get the game, we'll have to try to coordinate so we can all be on the same server. I know a bunch of people at Frenchy's Pit are most likely getting the game too, and we've talked about trying to all get on the same server. I wish games like these would let you transfer your character to another server if you wish. Maybe make it limited to one or two moves. Cuz it sucks when you are playing for a while and get a character you really like, then find out all your friends are on another server, so in order to play with them, you have to start all over again. Anyway, for those of you who didn't get a chance to play it, but like MMORPG's, you should definitely try this one out. I think there is an open beta coming up soon, so I'll keep an eye on it and post a link if/when there is an open beta.

ok, now we are into the final stress test, which will roll right into the open beta next week sometime. If you are a fileplanet subscriber, you can still get in on the stress test. If not, you'll have to wait until the open beta. If you get into the stress test, you'll be able to keep your character(s) for the open beta. It's so cool to be able to play this game again. I can't wait for the final retail release. Let me know if anyone is planning on playing the stress test/open beta. Me and a few peeps from Frenchy's Pit are playing on beta 2 server (pvp).

Well, I have a Night Elf Priest named Moonranas, on the Mannaroth server, which is an Eastern PVP server. It's really busy, so sometimes it's hard to get on.
I have a Gnome Warlock named Sque and Dwarven Hunter named Bruen on the Spinebreaker server, Pacific PVP server I also have a Night Elf Hunter named Porner and a Human Rogue named Chril on the Hyjal server, which is a Pacific normal (non PVP) server so far I'm playing Moonranas and Bruen the most, so that's where you will find me if you get the game. |

I'm a Night Elf with the name "Rendition" in the Mannoroth realm.
I played for like 30 minutes and was totally lost. I need some tips. Maybe I'll read the manual now.

Here's a tip if you are on a crowded server. About half the time I try to get on Mannoroth, the computer says there is a queue of 250 players.
Well instead of waiting, I just cancel and try to login in again. Usually the 2nd time works or 3rd time works. Don't wait in line! Just re-try and cut the line.

I don't know why, but this game is much more fun than City of Heros and Sims Online, which are the two other big online games I've played.

I have a lvl 12 NE priest on mannaroth. i'm not sure if i'm going to play him much anymore because i get horrendous lag on that server, since it is one of the most populated servers in the game. I'm playing more on Spinebreaker, which is a low population Pacific server. If you want some help with quests, I'll come on Mannaroth sometime to help you. Priests are good for buffs and keeping your arse alive!!! If i'm not lagging too bad i can help you out!
If you are not too attached to that character, you can come over to Spinebreaker, a Pacific PVP server. I just created a new NE priest there, who's only lvl 7 so far. It's much better for me, cuz i don't lag like i do on mannaroth. The only thing that sucks is that due to the low population, the player economy pretty much is non-existant, so it's hard to sell stuff to other players to make money. I usually just sell all my stuff to vendors. my priest's name is the same for both servers, Moonranas. Put me on your friends list, then you'll know when i log on. I'll probably check out mannaroth a bit later tonight. |

I probably won't play tonight since I played all night last night.
I think I got like 4 hrs of sleep. I'm going to conk out soon.I'm up to level 8 now and having fun. I added you to my Friends list. So if you're ever online, I'll see you. I've grown attached to my character for now, if I'll get bored or the queue is too long I'll try Spinebreaker. I'm getting the hang of the game. I do want to get off the island. What level can you get off the island for some PvP action? |

you'll leave the island at around lvl 10 or so, but you won't see PvP action for quite some time, unless you want to get your arse stomped. My lvl 16 dwarf isn't nearly ready for PvP yet. I think the game is set up for PvP action to be for characters in the high 20's or greater.
If you want to see how your character will stand up to PvP, you can challenge someone to a duel. Nothing happens if you win or lose, but it does display a message to all in the area "soandso beat soandso in a duel" so you get bragging rights, i guess. |

The line on Mammorath was getting unbearable 450+ tonight. So I started a new character on Spinebreaker Pacific Timezone server, a gnome called "Rendition". lol
See you on the main land soon AngryIntern. I recommend all FirstAdopters to start their characters on Spinebreaker server! |

Ok now I'm focusing my time on the Warsong server as Rendition again. I'm a human paladin. The other servers had latency problems for me.
I'm enjoying my time on Warsong server. My one month bill date comes due next week. I'm still not sure yet if I'm going to re-subscribe. $15/mo is a lot of dough. Also I don't think my like can sustain an addiction like this.

i paid for the 3 months right off the bat, so i still have some time to play. Most likely i'll be bored by the time my subscription runs out, plus Middle Earth Online should be out around that time!!!!

I didn't renew because of lifestyle issues. I couldn't keep spending 2-3 hours a day on this game, my wife was complaining.
It's like kicking an addiction habit, have to go cold turkey. But oh how I want to level up my palladin and get a mount and buy a new sword. Oh well. |

right!!! Although, i haven't been playing much lately....can't seem to find the time to sit down, plus i'm getting really sick and tired of getting ganked by some jackass horde who is 20+ levels higher than me. I've started a Tauren Shaman on Hyjal (non-pvp) so i can see the horde side of the game, and now i'll be able to roam the lands without being constantly worried i'm gonna get jumped by someone.

I'm back in WOW. Lol.
A friend of mine has been playing on Uther, so I decided to join him. It's a non-PvP server, so at least there won't be ganking. I'm Rendition on there, a troll warrior. Hear me ROAR! |
