Plextor PX-708A Sale!

Dell Small Business has done it again. The BMW/Ferrari (or whatever hot car you can think of) of DVD burners is on sale for $166.36. Find it here http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=A0158274 Shipping is free. Site also advertises a $50 mfg "rebate" but read the "Rebate Details"...you have to buy ~$200 of Plextor software to be eligible. Even without the rebate, you can't find this device any cheaper anywhere on the 'net and it comes bundled with the following software:

"The PX-708A is bundled with a variety of powerful software tools including Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator™ 6, PhotoSuite 5 SE™, Roxio DVDMax Player and Dantz Retrospect® backup and restore solution."

Sale ends 2/18/04.

The device arrived at my house about an hour ago. Ordered it yesterday morning and Dell delivered it in ~24 hours...not bad considering it was free.

Installed the Plextor PX-708A yesterday...configuration and installation were simple...haven't had a chance to play with it yet...be back to you all later on that.

Well, I haven't had the Plextor 2 months and already they're coming out with devices that'll write dual-layer DVD's (next month) and 16X devices (June/July). I'm not that interested in the 16X stuff but writing dual-layer would be nice.
