If you bid on an iPod, you may be buying in to a "pyramid" scheme...http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,62226,00.html?tw=wn_tophead_1

Oh come on, if you fall for this shit you're stupid. If you spend any amount of time on Ebay you can smell schemes like this a mile away.

What pisses me off is that shit like this keeps me from encouraging the less techno savvy from joining Ebay.

The sad thing is A LOT of techno-phobes are trying eBay for the first time and they all think everything is authentic on eBay since everyone else is doing it.

I know lots of friends and relatives that are trying eBay for the first time and don't know how dangerous it is out there, especially for expensive items.

I admit I am stupid, I am new and I want an iPod, I was currently searching for iPod's, I come across this item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=75522&item=5785065689&rd=1 It was priced at 10million, I checked it and read it and like a stupid idiot and went to link, the link was Ok, but I fell for it and entered my details in like Full name, Address, Post code etc. It then said I have to join a company for a period to get free iPod, I was about to and my mate said dont, AM I OK OR HAVE I DONE SOMETHING BAD BY ENTERING IN MY DETAILS? LET ME NO PLEASE ASAP THANX

as long as you didn't give your SSN or bank information, you should be ok. Although you'll probably be getting a ton of junk mail now!!!
