So typical of PC guys like Dell, OEM makers, and Microsoft. They love to copy Apple.

Actually they don't. Apple's style costs money, and they prefer more pedestrian designs that are cheaper to mass produce. So that is why the major PC manufacturers still use dull, plastic boxes. Yes, third-party case companies like Lian Li make some sweet "cool" aluminum cases, but they cost hundreds of dollars, which is far too expensive for OEMs.

Even the new A-Open box will be pre-configed, and with rather pedestrian components, so it's appeal will probably be limited.
