Doom Movie

Not sure if anyone's seen this, but the trailers are out for the Doom movie. It acutally looks quite good, in a cheesy way. I like the fact that they've kept to the look and feel of the game, the enemies look to be the same, and they seems to have stuck to the weapons too. A bit of genius, IMHO, is that a lot of the fighting scenes seem to be done in first person, with just the gun on screen and what the person sees, just like the game.

Nice to see they haven't just taken the idea and Hollywood-ised it!

I actually hope it does well, so we can see more videogame movies.

However from past experiences, I doubt it's going to be very good. For some reason, Hollywood and videogame movies don't mix.

I had a similar discussion at work. I'd like to see it work, but you're right... they tend not to.
