I would like some opinions on this following setup. I am going with the 955x Intel motherboard, and a 3.6 660 for now. I am not going dual core yet because of the large price premium and the performance gains are not yet big enough to justify it. But, in the future, I do have this 955x and I can just upgrade to a dual core if needed. Any idea as to how long this 955 will last before a new chipset comes in? Also, how do these Cold Cathode lights function? Can I turn them off externally, or do I have to go into the bios?

(I already have a Samsumg lCD (19 inch 193p) and a Plextor 716 DVD double Layer burner, +Mouse and Keyboard.)

This is a Velocity Micro system, I do not want to build it myself for now, so let's not focus on that! Big Grin)

Actually looks great. What will you be using it for? Most tech games would probably go for an Athlon 64 chip b/c of price/perf.

I am not a hardcore gamer per se, but I did examine the FX55 closely before I decided, as well as the 4800+ dual core. I would of gone with the dual core, but shipping times were much longer than I would like to wait for them.

The P4 is a bit better for multimedia, as I work with audio as well. It isn't too much of a difference, but I am just more used to Intel.
