Hello all,
I just got a 2005FPW. It's very nice, but I'm experiencing a weird font problem.
I use IRC a lot. I also frequent MUDs (telnet). The font I prefer to use in these programs is Fixedsys, which is a system font like Terminal.
Now, this is the odd part. Whenever I have a dialog box overtop screens using this font, lines appear across the dialog box wherever text is on the screen behind it. THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF WINDOW TRANSPARENCY. I just wanted to get that out, first and foremost. This is something much more strange.
It only seems to happen with dark dialog boxes. The "green scheme" for Steam comes to mind. As I'm posting this, I have this IE window overtop my MUD client and the lines are coming through on the "Post New Thread" and "Additional Options" header bars.
If I use a different font, the effect lessens to the point of not being noticeable. For example, I switch to Verdana and I can't see these funky lines across my dialog boxes any more.
The screen is clean, I'm using DVI, and I have the proper resolution set. THe monitor is listed as Digital. All is well in that regard. I'm gonna try updating my video card drivers, but I'm not sure if that will help :/
Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?
