Hi,

I received my new XPS Gen 4 and proceeded to hook it up. Out of curiosity, I checked the System Properties and it says the following:

Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Not sure I understand here - Version 2002...? I ordered Media Center 2005. What is this about?

Also, regarding my CPU I can see:
Pentium 4 CPU 3.73 GHz
3.72 GHz, 3.00 GB of RAM

I ordered a P4EE 3.73 GHz so that seems right but I also ordered a system with 4 GB of RAM, why do I see 3.00? I'm really getting confused here.

Thanks for any input you may have.

PS: other than that the machine is great and much quieter than I thought it would be!

I seem to remember some 3Gb of ram limit thing, but not sure which OS's it affects... as for your Media Centre 2005/2 issue... I'm not sure about that.

Thanks for the replies. According to the thread you pointed me to, it seems the 3.00 GB stuff is normal; I did check the BIOS and it reports 4 GB or RAM anyway.
Regarding the Windows Media Center Version 2002... I hope that's some kind of bug ;o)

Thanks again!
