What's your price range? Would you be willing to buy a HT receiver + bookshelf + surrounds? Or just want computer speaker setup?

In my opinion, these are the best computer speakers you can buy. Period. I don't own them, but I just listened to a set that a co-worker of mine owns. DAMN! They sound better than most people's home theater systems. And they are in your price range, Taz. Newegg as them for $339 plus $12 shipping.

Take a look at the user reviews at Newegg: 5 stars from 63 voters!

Here's a link to a recent and very complete review:

If you get those, I'm gonna be really jealous!

You may also want to take a look at these. Review is here (http://www.3dxtreme.net/index.php?id=logitechz680speakers1). Price is about the same as the Klipsch. Not to take anything away from the Klipsch (they are excellent speakers) but everything Logitech makes is designed and mfg'd so well...you really get alot for your money. I have their 2.1 speaker set and they're really excellent.

I have the Logitech 5.1 that cost around 50.00 after i got my rebate i forgot the model number around 80 to 100 watts but not enough power for what i want to do,I have been reading post about the speakers you are taliking about and there are alot of bad reports on them its a shame to cause i use alot of there products, mouse, joy stick, web camera,At best buy they will not let me hear them and all the other places aroung here that have them are not set up to listen to them...

Thanks, Taz...I've never heard them but I figured they were good based upon the review and their other products (I have 3 mice, 2 keyboards, and 2 joysticks from Logitech). Sounds like (no pun intended) Klipsch is the way to go. :)

For the high end, Klipsch and Logitech are the two main brands. I still like the idea of getting a good amp and pair of EPOS bookshelf speakers. It's just $200-300 more and you get MUCH better sound. However it does take a lot more space though.

i've got the last generation Klipsch 5.1's and they rock!!! I had a set of klipsch 4.1's prior to that. Klipsch makes some of the best speakers in the home theater department, and their multimedia speakers are no slouch either. I would recommend these in a heart beat!!

interesting, cuz i've got the ProMedia 5.1 (not the new ultras) and I'm running them with an Audigy 2 ZS sound card and I've had no problems with them at all. What kind of problems are you having with the klipchies?

Here's a link from the MSI forum talking about several models of the Logitech speakers. I don't know anything about them, but there's a lot of info here:
