For non-2001FP discussion, this is the place to be.

To start I find this on Circuity City:

A 19" low response time Sony LCD monitor for $664 after rebate. Anyone know if this monitor is any good?

Found the specs here (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=2dHBN1fguxjBFBb3ObrLPBjuFqRFcpd2ZhA=?Cat egoryName=cpu_Displays_FlatPanelLCDs_18%22&Dept=cpu_Displays&TemplateName=item%2fsy_item_b&ProductSKU=SDMHS94P%2fS). It has a 12ms response time.

very nice.....i think i like my 2001FP better, though!!! Maybe in a couple of years when the response times are down to nanoseconds, and we can get like 30"+ monitors, then I'll finally upgrade again!!!!

Another pretty good monitor, albeit a bit smaller, is the Samsung 172x. 17" and also has the 12ms response time. I was considering it for a while for my second computer, but it was too new, and nobody had it in stock. I actually had it ordered, but they couldn't tell me when they'd actually get one in, and i'd waited over a week, so i cancelled the order and bought the 172W instead. A nice 17" widescreen monitor. I figured since I wouldn't be playing games, i didn't really need the super low response time. I'd recommend the 172W to anyone, also.

I like the stand on the 172W and the thin bezel on the 172X. I'd like to see them in 19" widescreen.

Another 3D display http://store.sharpsystems.com/product.asp?sku=2555920 This technology looks like it may be worth waiting for...bigger panels, higher res, lower response times...certainly would give a whole new look to gaming.
