Ok AngryIntern, you got me curious with all your DoD posts. What do I need to do to play the latest version of day of defeat? Any mods I need to download?
I have an original copy of Half-life, I think that is valid to play.

sorry it took so long to get back to you, rendition. If you have a valid copy of HL you are all set to go, assuming that no one else has used your cd-key. All you need to do now is go over to www.steampowered.com and get dl the Steam client. If you want to be able to play ALL the mods, you will need to dl those separately from within steam. If you use fileplanet or similar site, you can dl the entire thing, the client plus all the mod's .gcf files in one fell swoop, at about 700 mb. Anyway, once dl'd, run the setup, and you will have to create an account with Steam and input your cd-key. I'm sure there will be a large update to get everything up-to-date. Once everything is up to date, the program runs (and you can even have steam start when windows starts) and it runs down in your system tray, from there you can right click on the tray icon and choose what you want to do, choose the game, server, options, what have you. If you decide to give DoD a try, come on over to Frenchy's Pit (www.frenchys-pit.com) and our IRC channel on Gamesurge #frenchys. well, hope this helps you!!

Tired playing today on server 2, it was fun. A bit laggy though, it looked great on the 2001FP.
I'll try playing at night when lag should be less.

frenchy has been having a lot of problems with his host as of late, and #2 seems to be a bit more laggy than #1. Glad you had fun. Are you playing as Rendition?

Yup playing as Rendition. I'll try server 1 sometime later too, server 1 didn't work for me for some reason (reliable overflow error?)

ha, i've been playing with my new xbox and city of heros. I probably won't renew city of heros though when my month is up in a week or so. Don't have that much time, esp since I bought like 4 new Xbox games. hehe

I've been playing some DoD on Frenchie servers lately. Man it's a ton of fun, no hacking, no newbies like public Counterstrike servers.
I recommened it highly to FA'ers, it's awesome on the 2001FP too.
Just got DOD installed and sorta configured. I'll probably drop in there every now and then. (idx or `hate the drake`)
...of course I'll be playing like a complete noob. I haven't played in forever and my mouse is acting really weird..

Man lately the servers are already filled at night when I want to play. Oh well. :(

rgr rendition. The servers are pretty popular these days!! Which is a very good thing....lot's of new blood. One thing you can do, if you so choose, and want to play quite a bit, you can donate a little bit of money to frenchy for server costs, bandwidth, etc, and he gives you a reserverd slot on teh server. I think he has it set to 27 public slots and 28-32 are for reserved slot owners and admins. I believe the going rate is $5 for a slot. Just something to think about, cuz the servers really are the busiest from 6-10 pm EST
p.s. feel free to drop in on IRC irc.gamesurge.net #frenchys (or go to website and click on "chat with frenchy's admins" on the left hand side of the screen)

Yeah....all the guys at Frenchy's are getting pretty excited. We are going to have at least one, maybe 2 DoD:S servers ready for launch day. Should be pretty fun. Preloading for the game started earlier this week via Steam. Cool thing is, for people who didn't get it with their HL2 bundle, or didn't get HL2, it is available as a stand alone game via Steam for $18, or you can buy the Retail version of Counter Strike: Source and get the DoD:S with it!!

Playing a sniper class on the flash map sure is a lot of fun. I suck as any of the other classes though.
