Netflix rocks so hard (online dvd rental service). I can't live without it. Blockbuster is so dead.
One of the best parts is you can email your whole rental history, to see which movies you've seen in your past.

$20 a month is a lot.

Maybe but Blockbuster is almost $5 per movie so after 4 movies per month, you are a winner.

I agree. The best part of Netflix is the convenience of never having to return movies. Maybe I'm just lazy, but this is huge.

rgr, netflix is the bomb! I love not having to go to the store to get a movie....plus I've rented a lot of movies that I probably wouldn't have gotten at blockbuster....and netflix's selection blows any brick-n-mortar store out of the water!

I have to admit I canceled Netflix after they announced their price increase. I thought, hey I have Tivo and since I'm getting HDTV, I might as well get HBO, Starz, and Encore and then cancel Netflix.
And then after 3 weeks without it, I was forced to resubscribe and then I proceeded to cancel HBO, Starz, and Encore. :)
Nothing beats the variety and convience of Netflix. HBO, even with a 1/2 dozen channels, keep playing the same boring movies, over and over again.

Netflix ranks right up there with Broadband and Tivo, I can't live without it!!!! It is not all that expensive, I just got 3 movies in the mail today.
If you have not tried it you REALLY, REALLY need too.

No Doubt...I Love Netflix! I've seen so many great indie and counter-culture movies that I'd never even know existed. Plus, there are so many reviewers that you can pretty much screen out movies you won't like. I get one movie for myself, one for the whole family, and one for the teenager specifically. It's great.
BTW I saw Ballbuster is trying to one-up them here (http://www.blockbuster.com/homepages/displayPage.action?channel1=Sign+In+Sign+Up&channel2=Code&nav=false&channel=Movies&subChannel=sub)
I wonder if Viacom will try to crush netflix. I'm staying with netflix unless they get too $$$ or delivery becomes an issue.

I signed up for Blockbuster about three weeks ago to give them a try (a bit cheaper). Bottom line (for me), too slow to return. Netflix gets the movies I ship back the next day ( I live in ST. Louis and they are mailed to an address in St. Louis) and it takes Blockbuster about three days to receive them (they go to Lansing Michigan).

Wow, thanks for the tip Rogue. I was considering switching myself b/c of tight budget, but I guess I'll stick with Netflix.
I actually downgrade my subscription to 2 at a time, got to save some money there. This plan only lets you see 4 movies a month, which is fine with me.

I'm considering trying out peerflix.com. Probably not nearly as fast as netflix, but definitely cheaper!
Anyone have any experience with it?

I never heard of peerflix. But what you should do is try the Blockbuster trial 2 weeks and then cancel. It's free.
I also heard that they may off you another month free if you cancel. Take the 1 1/2 free months and then cancel it.
Then try Walmart for 30 days free.
After all that try Netflix. I'm currently on the 2 DVD's at a time at only $11.99 a month. Can't really beat that. They limit you to 4 DVDs total a month though. Since Netflix shipping is SO FAST compared to others, I don't mind 2 DVDs at a time.
Welcome to the forum, yowzator :)
I haven't used peerflix but, from the info on their site, it seems to go something like this:
You buy a movie for $1 and then you can keep it or, for another $1, trade it for something else with someone in their network. I assume that what you get in trade you can keep or trade it again. But, put simply, for an "entry fee" of $1 (the cost of the initial movie you have to buy), you get to see as many other titles as peerflix has for $1 each...provided that (and this is the limiting factor) that you're able to work the trades for the movies you want to see.
