Hello! I think this is my first thread that i've started. Anyway, I just signed up for the gamefly service. The Gamefly service, for those who haven't heard (i haven't really seen it advertised very well, and I stumbled on it purely on accident myself) is rather like Netflix, and it is an internet videogame rental service, where you can keep the game as long as you like with no late fees. You put the games on your "Game Q" and they send you the first 2 games on your list. When you are finished with a game, send it back to them in the postage-paid envelope and they send you the next game. They offer PS2, XBox, GameCube and GBA games, and you do have the option of keeping the game, and they charge you their price for the game, which looks fairly reasonable, from what I've seen. I love my netflix subscription, as I am a lazy bum, so this will make trying out new games without having to drag my bum ass to the local blockbuster. The selection looks to be great, with a lot of really new games. Just curious to see if anyone else has signed up for this as well, and what your thoughts were. I haven't gotten my first games yet, but I'll keep you all informed as to how the service is working out for me!!

edit: oh yeah, i forgot, the website is www.gamefly.com

ok, replying to my own post, but I just logged on to the website. My first two games shipped yesterday (Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals), and their Keep It price for both games is 34.99, not great, but better than buying it brand new. I also got this off the site:

Keep It

When you click Keep It, your credit card will not be charged until you confirm your purchase.

Once you confirm that you want to Keep It:
You keep the game disc you already have.
The original case and manual should arrive in 5 business days.
The credit card in Your Account is charged our low Pre-Played game price and any applicable sales tax (California residents only), as well as a small shipping and handling charge for the original case and manual.
We’ll send you the next available title in Your GameQ.
All Pre-Played game purchases are final.

sounds pretty neat, they send you the case and manual. I had originally heard that you would not receive the case if you kept the game, so this was welcome news to me!!

i just got my first two games yesterday (3/7). they shipped on 3/5, but i live in SoCal, so i tend to get my netflix movies really quick, too. The games came in the same sleeves as the netflix movies, but with the addition of cardboard sleeves to help protect the game. The games were Gamecube games, so i'm not sure if the cardboard sleeves are standard for all games, or just for GCN because of their small size. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals is pretty cool, but i'm somewhat disappointed with Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. So far it is exactly the same game as the original MGS for playstation....maybe i have to get farther into the game to get new content.....

I don't know, I may be in the minority but I rarely buy games that I don't like, and the games I DO like I play over and over. I'd rather just outright buy the game and be done with it.

On the other hand, a very sad percentage of my paychecks go towards electronics, so I'm not the best guy to ask. I do use Netflix all the time, and it works out well for me.
