Sony Unveils Cheap Small HD-Camcorder HDR-HC1
Sony unveiled today a new HD camcorder that is 1/2 the price, 1/2 the size, and 1/3 the weight of its previous offering. It will come out in July for $1684 in Japan and weigh less than 680 grams. The resolution will be 1440x1080. However the downside is it only uses one CMOS sensor vs. the 3 CCDs used by the HDR-FX1. All that aside, this will be a boon for amateur film makers and internet video junkies. Expect to see a ton of HD videos coming online soon.
