Supreme Court Allows Internet Wine Sales

Currently 23 states have laws banning direct sales from out-of-state wineries and internet sites. Thankfully the Supreme Court struck down those laws today as discrimination against interstate commerce. Expect lower prices for your favorite grape juice soon as a result of this ruling.

By a 5-4 vote, the high court ruled that the bans unconstitutionally discriminated against interstate commerce. Such laws have been adopted in 23 states while the other 27 states allow direct wine sales, industry officials said.
