nForce Opteron Boards with PCI Express

The Tech-Report reviews a bunch of motherboards using the nForce Pro 2200 chipset from Nvidia. These are the first AMD Opteron boards that support PCI Express.

So which board is right for your Opterons? That depends on what you need, or more specifically, whether your workstation craves SLI, PCI-X, or SCSI. If any of those are on your list, Tyan's Thunder K8WE is a fine choice. It's not cheap, mind you. But if you're thinking about SLI, PCI-X, and SCSI, chances are you can absorb the cost of the board.
