Time Warner Loses Confidential Employee Data for 600,000

Man the hits keep coming for companies losing sensitive customer and employee data. Now Time Warner has admitted today it lost backup tapes in route to an undisclosed data center that held sensitive data about 600,000 former and current employees. Note to big companies, shape up or face the consequences.

The world's largest media company and owners of America Online, HBO and Warner Brothers studio said the missing tapes contained data from Time Warner, including personal information on the employees. The tapes did not include personal data on Time Warner customers, it said.
