Headless sub-$500 iMac Rumor

Highly reliable sources have told ThinkSecret, Apple will announce a headless sub-$500 iMac at MacWorld Expo on January 11th. The new computer will go for $499 and come with a G4 1.25ghz processor in a tiny package similar to the 1.73 inch high Xserve server PC.

The computer will come with DVI or VGA ports, 256MB of RAM (paltry!), USB 2.0, FireWire 400, 10/100 Ethernet, 56k modem, and 40-80GB hard drive. Software will include iLife and Appleworks. Apple is going after the PC iPod owner, who now wants to dabble on the Mac side.
