Verizon Wireless Launches Audiovox XV6600
Verizon Wireless has launched the Audiovox XV6600 at a price of $549.99 with a 2 year contract. It will be available in Verizon stores in January 2005. Features include:
-integrated slide out QWERTY keyboard
-SDIO expansion slot
-EV-DO network for 300-500k/sec download speeds
-Backwards compatible to seemlessly switch to 1xRTT networks
-Bluetooth
-Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition OS
-64MB ROM and 128MB RAM
-3.5 inch QVGA 65k color screen
Walter Mossberg gave this Pocket PC phone a lukewarm endorsement. Although it's great for downloading emails and attachments quickly, it doesn't have the all-in-one integrated smartphone design of the Treo 650. Fortunately for Audiovox, the Treo 650 probably won't be EV-DO capable anytime soon.
