MP3 Player Purchasing Survey

MacWorld reports Sigmatel, the company rumored to supply Apple with flash memory next year for a new smaller iPod, did an interesting survey of MP3 purchasing behavior. In a population of 656 people between the ages of 18-35:

-59% plan on buying a new MP3 player to give as gifts
-39% would pay up to $100, 24% up to $150
-31% of current MP3 owners would pay between $149-$249

It looks like they are trying to figure out a good price point for a flash memory iPod.
