Sources Say Verizon Not Interested in Sprint

It's a tough week to be a reporter on wireless companies. Now sources close to Verizon and Vodafone are telling Reuters Verizon isn't interested in bidding for Sprint. Vodafone said they are not in discussions with Verizon or Sprint. The main impediments are regulatory hurdles, overlapping assets, and the unattractive Sprint land-line business. The theory is the FCC would be more against a Verizon take-over due to the hefty power Verizon already has as a Baby Bell.
