Samsung Develops Thin CRT

Samsung is developing a 32 inch thin HDTV CRT television to compete with low-end LCD TVs. The new TVs will be 35cm deep about 40% smaller than normal TVs and cost about $1000.

Traditional CRTs have better response times, picture quality, and full 1080 HDTV resolution, but are much bigger and weigh more than the latest flat panel LCDs and plasma TVs. Samsung is betting the CRT isn't a dinosaur yet with a new thinner line. As a current Samsung CRT HDTV owner myself, I approve of this message. Read
