No Green Shoots in the Freight Index
Warren Buffett was interviewed today and said his favorite economic indicator was the freight index, which makes sense as the economy doesn’t grow unless you move stuff around.
I downloaded the latest freight index data from the government and calculated the annual monthly % changes. It sure looks grim as the monthly year-over-year declines are accelerating. No green shoots here. Data Source
